Balochistan Rural Support Programme Fights COVID-19
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases are deeply stigmatized in our society and most cases go unreported due to family pressure. There is less than 2% participation of women in justice sector which make it worse for GBV victims to open up about their traumatic experiences. BRSP understands how crucial it is for to hear the victims without making them uncomfortable. Hence, BRSP with the financial assistance of UN WOMEN and SERF organized one day training session for police staff of Quetta Women Reporting Centre (WRC) to highlight how important it is to deal with GBV victims delicately. The session focused on the different types of trauma GBV victims can face. Moreover, the psychological traumas are common in any form of violence these victims face. The session also discussed proper case management concerning these victims and how the staff can help as the first line of counseling to these victims.
