Restoring Livelihood Opportunities of the drought Affected Households in District Kharan

BRSP with the financial support of Rural Support Programme Network (RSPN) has implemented “Restoring Livelihood Opportunities of the drought affected households” project in 2 union councils; Sarawan and Rasko of District Kharan.

Objectives of the project were:

Overall objective: “To contribute in poverty reduction and improve quality of life of poor rural communities in two Union Councils of district Kharan” 

Specific objective: To raise yield and productivity of agriculture dependent households through capacity building and provision of productive assets”   

Major Deliverables of the project included; Village Development Plans VDPs, Identification of the target beneficiaries through Poverty Score Card (PSC) conduction, Livelihood Enhancement Plan Development (LIPs), Capacity building of the communities and assets provision.

During the reporting period of the project achievements against the major deliverables of the project are;

  • Village development plans developed in 8 villages of the UC Sarawan and Raskoh.
  • 30 Ultra/Vulnerable Poor identified through PSC Results which was already conducted in the respective union Councils in earlier project.
  • 30 beneficiaries trained on Skill and Enterprise Development Trainings.
  • Asset provided to 30 Ultra/vulnerable beneficiaries. A huge asset distribution ceremony organized at district Kharan where General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch (Federal Minister of SAFRON) distributed the assets among 92 beneficiaries funded by RSPN and PPAF;
