Balochistan Rural Support Programme Fights COVID-19
The Guest of Honour, Her Excellency Androulla Kaminara, Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan spoke about the efforts of European Union towards bringing prosperity in Pakistan since the mid-1980’s and expressed her hopes for continued partnership with the government of Pakistan in the future. She appreciated the positive impacts of RSP’s approach of Community Driven Development and said that the role of LSOs is vital for ensuring inclusiveness, accountability and sustainable development across the country.
The Provincial Ministers and other Assembly Members commended the EU and RSPs’ contributions in rural development, particularly in Balochistan and assured their support towards the cause. The LSO representatives from districts Khuzdar and Kech showcased their achievements and lessons learnt. Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan, Chairman RSPN, advocated for rollout and sustainability for social pillar/community institutions throughout the province.
The BRACE Programme’s Technical Assistance Partner, Human Dynamics presented their progress on Local Development Policy Framework (LDPF) and advocated for LDPF. Listening to local government officials, and community members (LSOs) given their experiences and achievements, urged international donors and senior government politicians to appreciate the work accomplished by the LSOs and advocate for LDPF which will set a stage for Sector-Wide Approach and ensure community-led local development in Balochistan through participation of communities in local governance processes for effective service delivery in partnership with local governments/authorities and will help in delivering economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
